Windows Phone Microsoft is stealing sales and market share will BlackBerry in the five major European markets: UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy
In countries like the UK and France, one in 10 smartphone sales relates to a Windows Phone. Outside of Europe Windows Phone is relatively successful in Mexico, where the operating system is number two with a presence of 11.6% in sales of smartphones that country.
A curious aspect, according to Kantar, is that Windows Phone does not seem to attract users of Android or iOS but before new users coming from traditional mobile phones segment. If Microsoft keeps this pace of growth, the potential seems to be at his disposal: the UK smartphone penetration was 66% in July, with 85% of total mobile phone sales in the last three months be smartphones.
The bad news go to the BlackBerry, which continues to lose market share – even in the business segment, one of the company’s strengths – and now represents only 2.4% of sales in the five major European markets 1.2% in the U.S..
