BlackBerry sold less than 2 million smartphones in the quarter with BB10

bet manufacturer to revitalize its market position, new software proved a failure and “helped” the prejudice billionaire company.
After confirming a loss of almost one billion dollars in the quarter, the BlackBerry revealed this week that it sold less than 2 million smartphones with the BB10 system.
On Tuesday, 1/10, the Canadian manufacturer revealed that it sold 5.9 million smartphones in the second fiscal quarter, and 4.2 million of that total had the old system BlackBerry 7. In comparison, Apple sold 9 million units of the new iPhone 5S and 5C only on the first weekend of release.
The BlackBerry noted as possible causes of the poor result in the “intense competition” and “uncertainty” about a possible sale of the company has led the smartphone market.
Announced in May of last year as a big gamble to save the position of the BlackBerry in the smartphone market, the BB10 hit the market more than six months later, only in January 2013.
