São Paulo – The licensing company patent Wi-Lan said it had struck a deal with BlackBerry to extinguish all pending litigation between the companies.

Wi-Lan – Lan claimed that the BlackBerry tablet, the PlayBook, and a wide range of its smartphones used technology that violated its patent.

Financial terms and other details were not disclosed.

As part of the agreement announced Wednesday, the BlackBerry has obtained a license to use certain patents of Wi-Lan, the company said.

The two companies will discuss the licensing of other wireless technologies, added Wi-Lan.
