In an open letter released on Monday (2) says that the BlackBerry is very much alive, contrary to rumors, the company will not be sold. The letter was sent by CEO John Chen.
“Our sign ‘for sale’ has been removed and we are here to stay,” reads an excerpt of the letter. “The BlackBerry has recently made an agreement to receive a strategic investment of Fairfax Financial and other investors, which is a vote of confidence in the future of the company,” he continues.
The letter is primarily directed at business customers, a strong point of the brand. The statement also notes that the company will “return to their roots” and intends to invest in security research and development.
the past three months this is the second open letter released by the company. In October, the BlackBerry, which was commanded by Thorsten Heins, said customers could continue relying on the brand and the company was “making the necessary changes to strengthen.”
