BlackBerry has partnered with Foxconn production. The agreement, valid for the next five years, will focus initially on building a smartphone to market in Indonesia and other emerging regions.
Canadian hopes the alliance will enable you to focus efforts on strategic initiatives, such as product design and development of systems. Moreover, the idea is to leverage the manufacturing giant to compete more effectively.
Foxconn will manufacture products for BlackBerry in their factories in Indonesia and Mexico. The company smartphones, in turn, maintain the intellectual property and will be responsible for quality assurance of manufactured devices.
In a second step, the two companies expect to extend the range of products assembled together to other markets, both emerging and consolidated.
