As part of the BlackBerry Academic Program, a comprehensive program of funding and support aimed at students and mobile application developers, the BlackBerry, in partnership with PUC-Rio, inaugurated this week the room BlackBerry Tech Center in Brazil.
This program serves two purposes: to provide constant training, space and resources for students and developers to create and test new mobile applications, in addition to supporting their entrepreneurship helping to generate business opportunities.
Foreign Minister of Canada, John Baird, attended the opening ceremony of the Tech Center. “The PUC-Rio has a long history of collaboration with Canada, especially with the University of Waterloo. Partnership between BlackBerry and PUC-Rio for the opening of the Tech Center will stimulate innovation, create jobs and bring growth and prosperity for the two countries and in international markets, “he said.
BlackBerry Tech Center is located at PUC-Rio. It will be open during the week and will feature a team of technical experts to support developers working with the BlackBerry platform.
