BlackBerry messaging application ponders separate from the rest of ... - TeK.sapo

The BlackBerry is undergoing restructuring and is studying several options for the future of the company – among which is the possibility of selling. But more recent reports give account of another strategic step that Canadian technology can adopt: make BlackBerry Messenger a company apart.

The information is advanced by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that cites sources with limited knowledge of the facts. The idea of ??moving an application message to a subsidiary that will have to name – BBM Inc. – may have advantages and disadvantages for the company led by Thorsten Heins.

The creation of a spin-off would BlackBerry to financially exploit one of its most valuable assets. BBM will hit iOS and Android operating systems by the end of September, which will increase the value of the software. This would also be a way to entice buyers to the main company, showing that the technology is profitable products.

The BBM Channels, a form of interaction similar to Twitter brands and personalities which may have a more direct connection to users, is a feature that is expected and can contribute to the growth of the 60 million users that the application currently has.
