Using BlackBerry in Brazil will change 'dramatically', says director - Terra Brazil

One of the most important markets for the BlackBerry in the world, Latin America is receiving great attention in recent releases with BlackBerry 10 system. The concern includes news for Brazil, where “things will change dramatically,” said the second Earth the company’s director for Latin America, Wes Nicol.

The country is one of the emerging among which the company wants to increase its stake. In Brazil, the BlackBerry plans to reach the first or second preference of the users in the near future.

BB 10 has been particularly successful in developing economies, according to the executive. The Canadian company plans to leverage the niche created by economic growth of Latin American nations to win customers who do not have smartphones – or win back those who had a BlackBerry, but switched to another device.

To grow again, the company is betting on releases – still few – facing different types of customers with different layouts and prices. Price and product availability were not disclosed, however, Latin America must be one of the first places to receive the news.

“I still can not announce details, but things will change dramatically for BlackBerry in Brazil,” said Wes. He assured that the country is a major focus of the company in this new phase – and that the safety of Canada will again appear in the hands of Brazilians soon.

In its endeavor to revitalize the brand, the executive said he was questioning the old BlackBerry customers why they left the company, and that would come back.
