BlackBerry hopes to sell "tens of millions" smartphones Q10 - PC World

Canadian BlackBerry maker seems very confident with your new Q10 smartphone that combines a touch screen smaller than the current standard with a physical keyboard, standard company several years ago.

In an interview with Bloomberg, the company’s CEO until recently was called RIM (Research in Motion), Thorten Heins said he expects home sales in the “tens of millions of units” of Q10.

“This device will come amid a base of about 70 million BlackBerry users. So we have some expectation. We expect to sell tens of millions of units of the device (Q10), “he said.

As Bloomberg points out, the company’s shares have risen about 30% this based on optimism due to the new BlackBerry system, which will also be present on the smartphone Z10 and other smartphones.

End of tablets?

Moreover, Heins also said he did not expect to see tablets more in evidence in the market in a few years. “In five years, I do not think there is reason to have a tablet anymore.” Then the officer went on to say that “the tablets themselves are not a good business model.” Remember that the company did not fare any better in this segment with the PlayBook tablet released in 2011 without some essential features like e-mail, and it ended up being a sales failure until its discontinuation.
