BlackBerry announced changes in its workforce. Kirstian Tear, vice president of operations, and Frank Boulben, vice president of marketing, will leave the company. In addition, the vice president of the company, James Yersh, will be replaced by Brian Bidulka, and Roger Martin, a member of the board since 2007, resigned.
The company also stated that Thontes Heins will be temporarily replaced by John Chen as chief executive. Chen, who helped restore Sybase software producer in the late 1990s, told Reuters earlier this month that would change the administration of the BlackBerry. He will hire outsiders and promote employees.
In early November, the BlackBerry suspended its sales plans and opted to raise $ 1 billion through an offering of convertible bonds led by Fairfax Financial Holdings, its largest shareholder.
