BlackBerry held an event on Wednesday (24) to announce the launch of its new smartphone, the Q10, the Brazilian market. Marketed through the four biggest national carriers, the device is facing the corporate landscape and intends to compete directly with other high-end devices.

One of the most striking physical features of the phone is the integration of its QWERTY keyboard with touch screen 3.1-inch AMOLED display and a resolution of 720×720 pixels. The physical buttons can be used in hybrid form with the touch while typing, allowing the user to choose among word suggestions shown on the display.

The device is compatible with LTE technology used by the Brazilian operators, has a 2,100 mAh battery and is initially available only in black. The processor is a Snapdragon S4 and the gadget also has 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, 8 MP rear camera and 2 MP front and micro SD card slot.


To work

Q10 comes with the BlackBerry 10 operating system installed, which brings a host of features designed to enhance the practicality of its use in the workplace and in personal activities. The highlight what else could be interesting for users in general is the Hub, which allows messages to all applications to be viewed and answered in one place.

Not for everyone

According to the manufacturer, the BlackBerry Q10 will initially be sold only in the corporate market. For this reason, the possibility of making it available to the general public and its retail price depend on decisions by operators. Although there is no plan decided to manufacture the smartphone in Brazil, the company representatives said that the issue is being looked at carefully.
