In an interview with The Verge, Larry Lieberman, Product Manager for Microsoft’s mobile platforms, said he did not care about the competition with Blackberry sector. For him, the Windows Phone 8 brings a much greater variety of devices, plus exclusive features that competitors simply can not produce.
He makes it clear that the company is not afraid of losing their newly acquired position with WP8 as the third most used mobile platform in the world. “We are firm in third place right now. This is a big announcement in several respects, “he says.
The company expects further growth in the industry due to its record of steady growth. Otherwise, Lieberman points out that the fact that the Blackberry was preparing its first low-cost smartphone (with version 10 OS) to only release next month already gives a good advantage for Microsoft.
