Latin America's financial recovery slows BlackBerry - Teletime

The balance sheet of the BlackBerry for the period from March to May (its first quarter of fiscal 2014), released on Friday, 28 indicates an improvement of the company. Latin America

Compared to the same quarter last year, the regions that pulled the company’s growth in revenue were Asia / Pacific and Europe, where its sales rose 28% and 30%, respectively. In North America and Latin America, however, there was a worsening of 4.2% and 23%, respectively.

Compared with the previous quarter, there was growth in all regions except Latin America, whose revenue fell from $ 479 million to $ 449 million. The region’s share, which was 20.7% in the company’s revenues a year ago, is now 14.6%. The company attributed the drop to problems related to the exchange rate policy in Venezuela, which prevented the recognition of $ 72 million in revenue this quarter.

Future

The BlackBerry reported that prejudice must register again in the next quarter (June to August) and will continue its plan to reduce costs.
