BlackBerry Messenger is available for version 2.3 of Android - Softonic BR

Announced in late January, the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) is finally available for smartphones running version 2.3 of Android, also known as Gingerbread.

2.3 edition is still present in 21% of devices that run Google’s operating system, which is equivalent to about 175 million smartphones. Soon, it was more than expected that one of the most popular messaging programs in the world to win this release. Moreover, the survival of the Canadian company depends largely on the success that the BBM will have as a communicator to other platforms.

Smartphone with Gingerbread have a strong presence in emerging markets, an area where the BlackBerry wants to focus. But today, the company has to face strong competition from other mobile communicators, like WhatsApp, LINE, the WeChat, Hangout and Facebook Messenger.
